Jason Feldman
Jason Feldman is currently a junior at Syosset High School with a strong passion for media production.
His latest documentary titled The Subterranean Penthouse: The Story of WKWZ, explores the history and impact of this extraordinary radio station.
Jason’s interest in the station was sparked by stories he heard from his father about its early days, and he became fascinated by its legacy. As a second-generation DJ at WKWZ, Jason wanted to learn more about the station’s history and was motivated to document it before it risks fading into obscurity.
Jason’s dedication to production isn’t limited to just his current project. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he produced the award-nominated podcast MATT on LAX, showcasing his natural ability to create engaging content. His work as a DJ and producer at WKWZ has been pivotal in shaping his understanding of the medium, and he has continued to refine his skills throughout high school. This hands-on experience has given him an invaluable perspective on the inner workings of a radio station, all of which he is using to bring the story of WKWZ to life in his documentary.

In addition to his love for radio, Jason is a dedicated student who continues to thrive in his academic pursuits while also juggling multiple production projects. His future plans include furthering his studies in media production and continuing to tell impactful stories that bridge the gap between the past and present.
In his free time, Jason is a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan, enjoys playing guitar, exploring classic TV series like LOST and Seinfeld, and is on a never-ending quest to find the perfect slice of pizza.
