Jason Feldman
Jason Feldman is currently a senior at Syosset High School with a strong passion for media production.
His latest documentary titled The Subterranean Penthouse: The Story of WKWZ, explores the history and impact of this extraordinary radio station.
Jason’s connection to WKWZ runs deep. He grew up hearing stories from his father, Eric Feldman, about the station’s early days. Those stories sparked his fascination with WKWZ’s legacy, inspiring him to understand its history and motivating him to document its story before it risks fading into obscurity.
Throughout high school, Jason played a major role in revitalizing WKWZ, serving as an on-air DJ, Producer, and eventually Station Manager. These roles gave him hands-on experience in programming, engineering, leadership, and the day-to-day operations of a functioning radio station. This invaluable perspective now shapes the heart of his documentary, capturing both the station’s storied past and its exciting future plans.
Jason’s commitment to media and production extends beyond radio. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he produced the award-nominated video podcast series MATT on LAX, showcasing his ability to create meaningful and engaging content.
In late 2025, he was selected as a NYSSMA All-State Musician for Original Songwriting, one of the most prestigious honors available to student performers and composers in New York.
His achievements continued when he earned a Gold Telly Award from The Telly Awards for the trailer of his WKWZ documentary—national recognition of his skill as a young filmmaker.

In addition to his love for radio and filmmaking, Jason is a dedicated student who continues to excel academically while balancing multiple production projects. He plans to further his studies in media production and pursue storytelling that bridges the gap between past and present.
Outside the studio, Jason is a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan, enjoys playing guitar, and loves exploring classic TV series. He is also on a never-ending quest to find the perfect slice of pizza. He is currently writing his first full-length original screenplay.
Jason strives to continue to create work that preserves history, amplifies new perspectives, and inspires others to tell stories that matter.
